School meals

At Lenthall we are fortunate to have our own kitchen, where healthy meals are prepared on a daily basis. Lunch is served between 12.00pm to 1.00pm. The majority of children have the school lunch, which is cooked on the premises. Children have a choice of meat or cheese, vegetables or salad, pudding or fruit, each day. There is also a vegetarian meal available. Sandwiches can be provided if requested. The week’s menu is on display on the notice board in the main entrance.

Dinner money is collected each Monday and needs to be sent in an envelope or named purse. If a child is absent on a Monday, money should be sent when he/she returns to school, to cover for the rest of the week. Absences are not charged for and money paid in is carried forward to the next week. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Derbyshire County Council’. At the moment school meals cost £2.20 per day (£11.00 per week) for all Nursery children.  Infant children are free.

Free School Meals

Free school meals are provided to pupils whose parents receive Income Support or income based Job Seeker’s Allowance or Child Tax Credit who are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and whose annual income does not exceed £16,190. If you think you might be entitled, please contact the Headteacher, or a class teacher, for the appropriate application form. When completed it should be either returned to school or sent direct to: Student Support Service, County Hall, Matlock, Derbyshire DE4 3AG.
